1953 Bentley R-Type Continental Sports Saloon by H.J. Mulliner

When Bentley was taken over by Rolls-Royce in the Depression, it lost some of the hard edge that W.O had bred into the brand.  The cars which followed were worthy enough, but became softened, as fitted their new marketplace.

The 1953 R-Type Continental changed that.

Revisiting the sporting heritage which helped make Bentley great back in the '20s, this was a real sports car and, as such, became much prized.  Today, it is a real icon of style and performance.

This particular example comes through us with a full mechanical overhaul, including engine, suspension and brakes.  The Geneva Show car, it comes with lightweight seats and factory-fitted wheel spats.  An excellent investment at £1,200,000.
